Third man in musician's slaying sentenced
DETROIT (AP) - A third man charged in the fatal carjacking and shooting of a Detroit musician who was killed after performing at a Christmas Eve church service is heading to prison.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Devan Williams was sentenced Wednesday to 11 to 40 years for second-degree murder. He also was sentenced to an additional two years in prison for a gun charge.
Police say Anthony Tolson was ordered out of his Chevy Trailblazer on Dec. 24 and shot. He had played bass guitar at the service and was heading to his mother's home with gifts for his three children.
Charles Cox earlier was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being convicted of first-degree murder and other charges. Darnell Young was sentenced to 33-60 years in prison.
