The Salvation Army William Booth Legal Aid Clinic is coordinating with Wayne County Friend of the Court to conduct a child support help program on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the “Friends Auditorium” of the Detroit Public Library on Woodward.
Clinic hours are 1-4 p.m. The library is located at 5201 Woodward Ave.
There will be a brief informational session on being proactive with child support and paternity issues.
Participants will then have the opportunity to consult one-on-one with volunteer family law attorneys.
These attorneys will answer questions on child support, parenting time, and custody issues and help participants fill out legal forms.
Child support professionals will be on site to register participants on the MiChildSupport website, and there will be staff dedicated to assisting the public with completing “Michigan State Discharge of Arrearage” packets.
This program is one in a series of free child support help programs supported by a variety of community service agencies.
