2017 edition of Oakland County's PROSPER magazine hits airports in time for holiday travelers

PROSPER, the official county magazine spotlighting Oakland County as a business and quality of life destination, is now available at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Flint’s Bishop International Airport in time to reach thousands of holiday travelers.

In its 11th year, the free full-color magazine tells Oakland County’s story through the people who make the county a preferred location to live, work, play and prosper. It features communities, education and businesses in its 104 pages. It includes a 16-page photo essay – “Picture Your Life Here” – with custom images taken from various locations in the county throughout the year.

The cover features a color illustration of Oakland County by artist Kevin Fales which places the county at the center of a global economy. The county is home to 1,050 international firms from 39 countries. The illustration includes landmarks such as the Fiat Chrysler world headquarters in Auburn Hills, the Detroit Zoo water tower in Royal Oak and Cranbrook’s Orpheus Fountain by sculptor Carl Milles.

“This is our best magazine yet,” Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said. “PROSPER profiles game-changing professionals in our communities, highlights home-grown food businesses and quality of life elements that make our county such a wonderful place to live and work.”

The magazine includes sections on talented entrepreneurs, downtowns, educational leaders, urban living and why international companies covet an Oakland County business address.

The magazine is funded by support from Oakland County communities, businesses and organizations. It is available in Oakland County public libraries, selected communities, schools, upscale hotels, luxury suites at The Palace of Auburn Hills and Michigan Department of Transportation welcome centers throughout the state and Cobo Center in Detroit.
