The Davis-Dunnings Bar Association will host its 22nd Annual Otis M. Smith Awards and Scholarship Banquet starting at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, at Eagle Eye Golf Club, 15500 Chandler Road, Bath.
This year's theme is “Go Boldly” and the Bar Association will honor several individuals who have done that by presenting them with the Distinguished Barrister Award, Trailblazer Award, Rising Star Award, and Humanitarian Award.
The DDBA will also present three scholarships to law students who have excelled in their studies and represent the best of the future legal profession.
The keynote speaker is State Representative Sarah Anthony, the first African-American woman to represent the 68th House District.
Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Clinton Canady III will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The event gets underway with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.
