Royal Oak-based law firm Howard & Howard has donated $12,500 to the Michigan Warriors Hockey Program.

Founded in 2014, the program is a nonprofit which provides disabled veterans the opportunity to play hockey while helping them to improve their mental and physical health.

“This generous gift from Howard & Howard will enable us to take a team to the 2019 Toyota-USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Festival held in Wesley Chapel, Florida in late March,” said Michigan Warriors CEO and President Josh Krajewski.

The donation is part of Howard & Howard's “12 Months of Giving” initiative, a year-long charitable campaign involving all of the firm’s offices and their respective communities.

As part of its 150th anniversary, Howard & Howard will be working with various community and charitable groups in Michigan, Illinois and Nevada, volunteering and donating more than $150,000 through 2019.

The donation was made official at a recent reception hosted by Howard & Howard at its Royal Oak office.

Guests included the Michigan Warriors Hockey family, friends and supporters along with Howard & Howard clients and firm personnel.

The Michigan Warriors Hockey Program is a nonprofit organization that provides an educational and developmental hockey program for disabled veterans.

Through donations, more than 160 disabled veterans have been provided with new equipment, ice time, and a staff of experienced volunteers and coaches.
