Program to look at 'Effective Advocacy in District Court'

The Oakland County Bar Association will present “Effective Advocacy in District Court” on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. at the OCBA offices, 1760 South Telegraph Road, Suite 100, in Bloomfield Hills.

Attendees will learn best courtroom advocacy tips from those in the know. Oakland County district court judges will participate in a moderated panel to share the dos and don’ts of representing a client in their courtrooms. 

Confirmed participants include 46th District Court Judge Cynthia M. Arvant, 45th District Court Judge Michelle Friedman Appel, 43rd District Court Judge Charles G. Goedert, 52-4 District Court Judge Kirsten Neilsen Hartig, 52-4 District Court Judge Maureen M. McGinnis, and 52-3 District Court Judge Julie A. Nicholson.

Credit has been approved with the OCBA for 2 Criminal credits.

Cost for OCBA members is $40 pre-registration or $50 on site registration. OCBA new lawyers, paralegals, and students pay $30 pre-registration or $40 on site registration. Non-members pay $60 pre-registration or $75 on site registration. MIDC court appointed attorneys can attend for free. To register, visit www.ocba.org and click on “events.”
