The State Bar of Michigan’s Labor and Employment Law Section will present “Cancel Culture in the Workplace” as part of the LELS Diversity & Wellness Lunch Discussion Series online Thursday, June 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Cancel Culture, or “call-out” culture, is a way of ostracizing and boycotting individuals for their speech—be it online, on social media, or in person.
Increasingly, the positions employees and employers take on important cultural and political topics are creating waves in the workplace. The discussion’s panelists will take on this topic and help attendees get a better understanding of what this phenomenon is and what impact it is having on employment law.
