To help many families in the community who struggle to afford warm clothing each winter, the Jackson YMCA hands out mittens, hats and other warm clothing on Halloween. Last year the YMCA distributed over 1,000 hats/mittens/gloves and 250 blankets.
This year in partnership with the Jackson County ISD at a new event—Fall into Reading, Oct. 30 at the Y—the YMCA will hand out warm clothing from 11 am to 1 pm.
Drop off items or monetary contributions at the downtown Jackson YMCA, 127 W. Wesley St. through Oct. 29.
The event is sponsored through Comtronics.
