The Resolution Services Center will offer its 48 Hour Domestic Relations Mediation Training online February 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, & 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. via Zoom.
This SCAO approved training includes the required Domestic Violence Screening Protocol Training, and meets the requirements of the Michigan Court Rules. Attendees will learn mediation techniques related to custody, parenting time, spousal, child support, and division of assets and debts.
Trainer Peg MacDougall will cover the topics of:
• Effective conflict management
• Mediation process, techniques and agreement writing
• Understanding the difference between positions and interests
• Support and parenting arrangements
• Custody issues
• Property division
• Financial issues
• The emotional stages of divorce
• Working constructively with attorneys
• Screening for domestic violence and other impediments to mediation
• Ethics and standards of practice
• Be coached in role plays by experienced mediators
Cost for the training is $975 for those who register by January 21. After the 21st, the training will cost is $1,075.
