The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s Traffic Safety Training Program will present “Prosecuting the Drugged Driver” online Tuesday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Impaired driving, particularly those drivers impaired by illicit or prescription drugs, is a serious crime. This training will provide law enforcement and prosecutors with the tools and resources they need to effectively investigate and prosecute drugged driving cases.
Topics to be explored include:
• Overview of toxicology in drugged driving investigations
• An overview of the seven drug categories by a Michigan Drug Recognition Expert Officer
• Prosecuting a drugged driving case
The training is designed for prosecutors, assistant prosecutors, law enforcement and traffic safety personnel. To register, visit www.michiganprosecutor.org and click on “training.” After registering attendees will receive a confirmation email from Zoom containing instructions on how to join the training.
The training handouts, if any, will be made available on the day of the training. The link to handouts will be provided upon registration.
Anyone with questions or in need any assistance registering for the webinar should contact Amy Gronowski at gronowskia@michigan.gov or at 517-643-2114.
