MAJ Women’s Caucus plans Judicial Mixer

The Michigan Association of Justice’s Women’s Caucus will host its 4th Annual Judicial Mixer on Tuesday, March 22, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The “Pop, Fizz, reconnect” social event will take place at Hazel’s, 1 Peabody Street in Birmingham.

Affordable housing in Michigan examined by attorney panel

The Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will continue its Homeward Bound series with a webinar on “Affordable Housing” on Thursday, March 24, from 3 to 5 p.m.

A virtual panel discussion will examine current Michigan affordable housing legal issues.

The attorney panel will discuss Michigan affordable housing laws, related landlord-tenant issues, state and federal affordable housing incentives and the potential for new legislation and policy changes.

This presentation will help Michigan real property law practitioners stay informed on the current state of Michigan law.

Drug, OWI forfeiture laws discussed at PAAM webinar

Tthe Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan will present an “Overview of Drug & OWI Forfeiture Laws” online Tuesday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon via Zoom.

This webinar will cover Michigan’s OWI and Drug Forfeiture Laws.

The OWI Vehicle Forfeiture Law is often underutilized. In the webinar, prosecutors will learn how to effectively implement this law in their offices.  

Prosecutors will also get up-to-date changes to the Drug Forfeiture Law.

Speakers will be Chief Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Guilliat from the St. Clair County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Assistant Prosecutor Eric Wanink from the Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office.

There is no charge to attend the webinar but attendees must register in advance. To register, visit www.michiganprosecutor.org and click on “training.”  

This course is approved for three hours of credit under PAAM’s recommended CLE Best Practice.  

The training handouts, if any, will be made available the day of each webinar.
