The American Bar Association will present a webinar on “The Role of Corporate Counsel in Access to Justice” Thursday, April 14, beginning at 1 p.m.
Across the United States, the justice gap remains. Thousands of individuals and families with civil legal problems cannot access the help they need to navigate the legal system. This panel aims to provide attendees with examples of how corporate counsel can help the pro bono community.
While many communities have a robust legal aid network, there are not enough legal aid attorneys to meet the need alone. Pro bono legal services are thus a critical component in closing the access to justice gap. Corporate counsel are an essential part of the pro bono community and this program will explore the ways in which these attorneys can and have helped to close the justice gap.
At the end of this program:
• Attendees will have a greater understanding of the access to justice challenges faced by low-income individuals and families.
• Attendees will understand how corporate counsel can help to close the access to justice gap.
• Attendees will learn about successful examples of corporate counsel pro bono opportunities and collaborations.
