As part of the 2023 Virtual Lunchtime Trainings, the State Appellate Defender Office and the Criminal Defense Resource Center will present a webinar on “Confronting Economic Penalties in the Trial Court” Tuesday, May 16, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
This training will feature Angeles Meneses, assistant defender at SADO. Meneses is a 2015 graduate of Michigan State University College of Law and a 2008 graduate of the University of Michigan, with a B.A. in Political Science.
During law school, Meneses developed a passion for public interest and indigent criminal defense. She served as a student attorney with the Washtenaw County Public Defender office, and as a legal clerk with the Federal Defender Office, representing indigent criminal defendants facing federal charges.
Before joining SADO, Meneses worked for Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, and Rivers as a project attorney for the Flint water contamination class action lawsuit. In this capacity, she had the opportunity to help draft pleadings, including the complaint against the Environmental Protection Agency.
To register for the webinar, visit www.sado.org. Anyone with questions may contact CDRC Manager Kathy Swedlow at kswedlow@sado.org.
