The Oakland County Bar Association’s Lawyer Well-Being Committee will present “Combating Incivility with Civility” on Thursday, November 9, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the OCBA offices, 1760 S. Telegraph Road, Ste. 100, in Bloomfield Hills.
The Lawyer Well-Being Committee offers this interactive seminar that will dive into the rules of professional conduct. Attendees will learn to identify stress styles using tools such as active listening, locus of control, and emotion regulation for effective dialogue. The panelists, known for their ethics and professionalism, will then share tips and techniques for remaining calm and handling incivility.
Speaking at the program will be Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Phylis C. McMillen, Jennifer M. Grieco of Altior Law, Thomas H. Howlett of The Googasian Firm, Julie I. Fershtman of Foster, Swift, Collins, & Smith PC; and moderator Sarah E. Kuchon, of Hohauser Kuchon.
Cost to pre-register for the program is $25 for OCBA members; $15 for OCBA Lawyer Well-Being Committee members; $25 for OCBA new lawyers and paralegals; $35 for non-members; and OCBA students can attend for free. Refreshments will be served, courtesy of Hohauser Kuchon.
