Webinar explores ‘Achieving the Goals of Arbitration’

The State Bar of Michigan’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section along with the Business Law and Litigation Sections, and the Detroit Bar Association ADR Section, will present a webinar on “Achieving the Goals of Arbitration - Working with the Administrator, the Arbitrator, and Your Opponent” Tuesday, February 6, from noon to 1 p.m.

Svetlana Gitman will be presenting at the webinar.  Gitman is a vice president of the Commercial Division at the American Arbitration Association® (AAA), where she administers large, complex commercial cases, manages the panel of commercial arbitrators, and directs outreach efforts for the AAA’s mission and services.

Before joining the AAA, Gitman was a member of the insurance practice group at Gordon & Rees in Chicago and worked as a claims-litigation attorney for State Farm® Insurance. She holds a number of leadership roles with the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association–Torts and Insurance Practice Section.

Gitman received her B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. Prior to attending law school, she worked for a London law firm specializing in insurance law. She earned her law degree from The University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Gitman served as an intern to United States District Court Judge Charles Kocoras and interned with the Department of Homeland Security.

Moderating the webinar will be Michael S. Leib, a mediator and arbitrator with Leib ADR LLC in Bloomfield Hills.

Cost for the webinar is $10 for ADR and co-sponsoring section members, and $40 for all other registrants.
