The Women’s Bar Association, Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, will host its signature event, “Table for Eight,” on Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m. at Madam, 298 S Old Woodward Ave. in Birmingham.
The evening of great food and conversation will feature special guest Marlo Johnson Roebuck, a principal in the Detroit office of national labor and employment law firm Jackson Lewis PC. Recently named a “Go To Lawyer in Employment Law” by the Michigan Lawyers Weekly, Roebuck was the first female managing partner of Jackson Lewis’ Detroit and Grand Rapids offices and served as a leader of the firm’s national African American Attorney Resource Group. In addition to being an experienced litigator and employment law advisor, she is a frequently sought after speaker and author on employment law issues such as diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. Roebuck began her professional career as a financial analyst and property accountant at a Fortune 100 company, began her legal career at a national law firm in Chicago in its employment and litigation practice groups, and has also had her own practice where she acted as in-house counsel to small business owners.
