Detroit man arraigned in road rage incident, multiple shots fired hitting other driver

A 37-year-old man has been  arraigned in connection with a road rage incident in Roseville.

It is alleged that on Friday, August 30, Carlos Emanuel Hernandez-Acosta, was driving on I-94 and shot at another vehicle.  He continued to follow the other vehicle and fired multiple rounds at the vehicle in the area of 11 Mile and Hayes.

The driver of the other vehicle was shot with non-life threatening injuries.

After further investigation, according to the Macomb County prosecutor’s office, Hernandez-Acosta allegedly switched vehicles after the incident and drove to work.

Hernandez-Acosta was charged with assault with intent to murder, malicious destruction of property, felony firearm, reckless driving and reckless use of a firearm.

“This alleged violent and reckless act of road rage put countless lives in danger, and we are fortunate that the victim’s injuries were not more severe,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.

A probable cause hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 25.
