Brother and sister arraigned in connection with the shooting death of other sister’s boyfriend

A 32-year-old Warren man and a 30-year-old Warren woman have been arraigned in connection with the death of their sister’s boyfriend.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Deandre Bernard Jones allegedly drove to a residence in Warren last Friday where his sisters, Keshawna Smith and an unnamed sister, were meeting with Stanley Smith Jr., 23.

Upon arrival, Jones reportedly encountered his sisters and Smith outside the residence and proceeded to shoot Stanley Smith Jr., killing him. Stanley Smith Jr. was the boyfriend of Jones’s unnamed sister. 

Following the incident, Keshawna Smith allegedly deleted messages and call logs between herself and her brother related to the shooting.
Jones has been charged with second-degree murder, felony firearm and solicitation of tampering with evidence.

He was arraigned in the 37th Warren District Court, where District Court Judge Suzanne Faunce denied bond. 

Keshawna Smith was charged with tampering with evidence.

She was also arraigned in the 37th Warren District Court, where Judge Faunce set her bond at $50,000 with no 10% provision.
