Fireside chat
The D. Augustus
Straker Bar Association along with the Young Lawyers Section of the
State Bar of Michigan and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law
conducted a “Legal Legends Black History Month Fireside Chat” on
Wednesday, February 28, at Detroit Pizza Bar in Detroit. Attorneys were
encouraged to bring a mentee or meet a mentee to engage in conversation
with legendary legal giants while enjoying complimentary cuisine from a
black owned establishment. Among those enjoying the event were (left to
right) Mariah Sammons, Courtney Griffin, Jazmine Goode, Mandy
Wilkerson, Chastity Youngblood, Luke Gehringer, Zahara Madahah, Darnell
Barton, retired Judge Denise Langford Morris, Straker Secretary Lanita
Carter, Amara Wesley, and Artaka Ross.
