Webinar looks at impact of Rapid DNA on forensic cases

The Prosecuting Attorney Association of Michigan’s Violence Against Women Project will present a lunchtime webinar on “Rapid DNA: Understanding its Role and Impact on Forensic Cases in Michigan” Wednesday, March 26, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

The webinar will feature Katherine Merideth and Scott Bruski, forensic scientists from the Michigan State Police Biology Unit. Merideth serves as the DNA technical leader while Bruski is the state CODIS administrator.

This presentation will provide an overview of Rapid DNA, including its function, current applications, relationship to CODIS, and its impact on forensic biology cases in Michigan. A Q&A session with the presenters will follow the discussion.

This presentation is open exclusively to prosecutors, prosecutor's office advocates, and law enforcement officers.
