The State Appellate Defender Office’s Criminal Defense Resource Center along with the West Michigan Regional Investigator Association will continue their 2025 Trainings for Defense Investigators with “Is Brady still the G.O.A.T.?” online Tuesday, April 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
In this training, attendees will learn about what discovery tools are available, what happens when discovery is missing, and the remedies available at the trial court level. This training focuses on Brady and Youngblood violations, when those violations come into play, and perfecting the record for appeal. This training will be most useful to both investigators and attorneys.
Speaking at the webinar will be Kristyna N. Nunzio, a criminal defense attorney who practices with her father at The Nunzio Law Firm PC. She has co- chaired numerous homicide trials and has obtained two reductions and two acquittals, including in the governor kidnapping trial. She has a passion for “dumpster diving” in discovery, reading between the lines for missing discovery, and relishes filing “frivolous” (according to the prosecution) motions.
