Affinity Bar Charity Challenge
The 2025 Affinity Bar Charity Challenge took place Wednesday, March 19, at Platform in Birmingham. The Oakland County Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association (Oakland County region of Women Lawyers Association of Michigan), Jewish Bar Association of Michigan, D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association of Michigan, Chaldean American Bar Association, and Women Lawyers Association of Michigan-Macomb Region all participated. Among those attending the fun night of giving back were (left to right) Nargiz Nesimova, Robert Goldman, Oakland County 48th District Court Judge Diane D’Agostini, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Tricia Dare, Rita Soka, Victoria King, Elyse Culberson, Oakland County 45th District Court Judge Michelle Friedman Appel, Dan Quick, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Kameshia Gant, Jared Goldman, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Sima Patel, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Jacob Cunningham, and Kristen Fernandez. Each partner bar association was representing a charity. Attendees voted for their favorite bar association by donating cash “tips” to the association’s “tip jar” of their choice. All tips go to the charities selected by each respective bar association. This year’s winner with the most tips was the Women’s Bar Association and its charity the Ruth Ellis Center.
