Fire Department installs Narcan box to combat opioid overdoses

The Jackson Fire Department (JFD) has installed a publicly accessible Narcan box outside the front entrance of JFD’s Central Fire Station at 518 N Jackson St. and is available for public use.

This initiative, made possible through a partnership with Home of New Vision, aims to provide life-saving resources.

The Narcan box is stocked with Naloxone (Narcan), a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdoses, as well as informational literature on opioid addiction resources available within the Jackson community.

Home of New Vision will be responsible for maintaining and restocking the box.
