Trash drop off May 3 for Charleston Twp.

A trash drop off opportunity will be available for Charleston Township residents Saturday, May 3 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Township Hall,1499 South 38th Street.
Residents must show ID.

Rules:


- Small, loose items must be bagged or boxed or will be rejected.
- Mattresses & carpet accepted.
- No tires or dead animals.
- No hazardous waste (see Household Hazardous Waste information below).

COST: Carload $10-$15 per car.
- No yard waste, blocks, bricks, rocks or concrete.

Truck or small trailer load-$30;
- Refrigerant emitting appliances must have service tech’s tag attached showing unit has been discharged.

Double-axle trailer-$40 each.
- No shingles.

Household Hazardous Waste


Charleston Township residents may use the Kalamazoo County Household Hazardous Waste drop off site at 1301 LaMont Ave. free of charge for Charleston Township residents. The Charleston Township Board pays for this program.

Materials accepted include: batteries, computers, cleaners, gasoline, mercury, oil-based paints, garden chemicals, used motor oil, TV’s. Not accepted: Latex paint. Call 269-373-5211 or www.kalcounty.com/hhw.
