In commemoration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM) and the Michigan Asian Pacific Bar Association (MAPABA) will host a Book Club online Wednesday, May 28, beginning at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
The Book Club will discuss the memoir “Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant” by Curtis Chin. The memoir tells the story of Chin’s time growing up as a gay Chinese American kid in 1980s Detroit.
Special guest Roland Hwang, professor of Asian Pacific American history in the Department of American Culture, A/PIA Studies at the University of Michigan, will be providing remarks.
