Detroit area law firm works
to help Gleaners Food Bank

Many children in metropolitan  Detroit go hungry in the summer months when school is not in session, since they rely on school meals for their daily nutrition.

Kajy Law Firm, PLLC, which prides itself on its family-friendly culture, had staff recognize the need to help feed the community and wanted to assist.

Food and monetary donations for Gleaners will be collected through July 18. Collection bins have been set up in the main lobby of the Kajy Law Firm at 18000 W. Nine Mile Road in Southfield.

The Gleaners Food Bank suggests supporters donate the following: canned vegetables, tuna fish, canned fruit, peanut butter, boxed cereal, and oatmeal.

"As a father of three, it is unimaginable to think about children going hungry. Anything we can do to help raise awareness and feed the community is necessary," said Lawrence Kajy, founder and managing attorney of Kajy Law.

Panel to offer ‘A View from the Top Court’

Jones Day Partner Amanda Rice, Detroit office, will be among the panelists for the firm’s “Women in IP Speaker Series: A View from the Top Court” webinar on Wednesday, June 25, from noon to 1 p.m.

The U.S. Supreme Court will soon conclude its 2024-2025 term.

A panel of lawyers who have argued, briefed, and followed matters in the court this term will provide their insights on a few of the court’s decided cases, a few that the court did not take up, and a few that are pending.

Panelists also will look at broader trends at the court in IP and advocacy.
