The Michigan Judicial Institute will present “Re-Examining Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the Problem-Solving Court Context” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) online Wednesday and Thursday, August 14, from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom.
In this first session of a new Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) Training Initiative, Dr. Shuchin Shukla, addiction medicine physician and expert consultant, will update attendees on the current standard of care and research evidence for using MAT to treat addiction, save lives, improve public safety, and improve other related outcomes.?
The session will also note concerns of MAT underutilization in the problem-solving court (PSC) context and offer insight on how to address stigma, access providers, and leverage resources to make MAT more available to Michigan’s PSC participants.
