‘Dogs on the Docket’
Retired Washtenaw County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Connors (left) enjoyed celebrating his Irish heritage with his family at the July 12 Michigan Celtic Festival in Ann Arbor. He is pictured with his long-time friend, Judge Cedric Simpson, who presides over the 14A-1 District Court in Washtenaw County. The duo served as line judges for the festival’s “Little Legs Challenge” dog race, a grand finale to the Corgi Speed Championships, when Grizzly, a four-time annual winner at the event—was challenged by Sir Remington of Canterbury, Dachshund winner of the Wiener Dog Races at Saline’s 2024 Oktoberfest. Grizzly won the challenge in a close race.
