‘Dogs on the Docket’
Retired Washtenaw County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Connors (left) enjoyed celebrating his Irish heritage at the July 12 Michigan Celtic Festival. He and his friend, Judge Cedric Simpson, who presides over the 14A-1 District Court in Washtenaw County, were line judges for the “Little Legs Challenge” at the Corgi Speed Championships, when Grizzly, the winner, was challenged by the Dachshund winner of the Wiener Dog Races at Saline’s 2024 Oktoberfest. Grizzly won the challenge. Simpson has served as a State Bar Commissioner and is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. Connors is past co-chair of the Michigan Tribal-State-Federal Forum, and was heavily involved in Peacemaking Courts. This year the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section presented him with a lifetime achievement award and the Michigan Association for Justice honored him with a judicial excellence award.
