The State Appellate Defender Office and the Criminal Defense Resource Center will present a webinar on “Raising Race in Search and Seizure Litigation (Part II):?Special Issues in Youth Cases” Tuesday, September 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
This session will equip attorneys to combine a race-conscious approach to search and seizure litigation with legally relevant principles of adolescent development.
Participants will learn how to:
• Effectively raise the issues of race and youth at suppression hearings.
• Analyze and apply relevant case law to argue the relevance of youth and race when litigating suppression issues.
• Explore how to interrogate and challenge the credibility of officers in suppression arguments.
• Make and preserve arguments about the relevance of race and youth.
