Response to Oakland County’s aging population focus of virtual program

Oakland County Planning, Zoning, and Land Use will conduct a Virtual Planners Gathering on “Oakland County’s Aging Population – A Regional, County and Local Response” Thursday, September 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. via Zoom.

Oakland County’s population continues to age. This Virtual Planners Gathering will look at the demographic trend, a discussion of the current and future impacts on public and private services, and what county and local officials are doing to adjust to the changing population’s needs.

Speaking at the program will be:

• Jeff Nutting, socioeconomic forecast coordinator, SEMCOG 

• Sirisha Uppalapati, supervisor, Regional Development Forecast, SEMCOG 

• Melissa Marsh, city manager, City of Madison Heights 

• Eli Cooper, AICP, transit manager, Oakland County 

• Jim Ellison, chief, Older Adult Services, Oakland County
