Six local fire departments responded to a barn fire at VDS Dairy Farms in Wakeshma Township near Fulton last Sunday afternoon.
The Climax Crescent reached out to South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority Fire Chief Tracy McMillan and SKCFA Administrator Tania Dee for details but did not get a response by press time.
While Climax Township Assistant Fire Chief Sean Perrin wasn’t certain, he believed there was no loss of livestock.
He estimated 50-60 feet of a large barn was impacted by the fire.
Perrin adds there were no injuries. He did not know the cause of the fire.
The assistant fire chief said fire departments from Climax Township, Mendon, Leonidas, Athens, Pavilion Charter Township, and South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority responded to the fire. Texas Township Fire Department moved up to man the location of one of the responding fire departments.
