The Michigan Judicial Institute will present “PSC Best Practice Series: Proximal, Distal, and Managed Goals Webinar” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) on Thursday, October 23, from noon to 1:15 p.m. via Zoom.
This webinar will detail how to classify participant goals by difficulty level to inform the appropriate responses to achievements or infractions.
Proximal goals should be achievable in the short term and sustainable for a reasonable period, whereas distal goals are those that are too difficult for the participant to accomplish currently. Managed goals are those that have been achieved and sustained for a reasonable period of time.
