The city of Zeeland will hold a tree-lighting ceremony at the splash pad downtown Dec. 1, shortly before the annual Christmas parade.

Downtown Zeeland will once again have its own lighted Christmas tree during the holiday season.
An official tree-lighting ceremony will take place Dec. 1 at 6:15 p.m., immediately before the city’s Magical Christmas Parade. In his final act as mayor, Kevin Klynstra will light the tree, with live music to be performed by the Tarnish Brass Band.
An evergreen more than 23 feet in height will be on display in the center of the splash pad during the holiday season, from Dec. 1 until the beginning of January. It will be fully lit with ultra-bright LED lights, provided by Chips Groundcover and Holiday Lighting.
This is Zeeland’s 13th year hosting a city Christmas tree. The tree is sponsored by Zeeland Board of Public Works, Chips Ground Cover and Holiday Lighting, Drip Coffee, Dekker’s Jewelry and Koele Godfrey Investment Group.
