Justice Ginsburg oral history added to ABA Women Trailblazers Project

CHICAGO— The American Bar Association Women Trailblazers in the Law Project has released the oral history of U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court.

The oral history consists of eight in-depth interviews with Justice Ginsburg conducted between 1995 and 2014 by Maeva Marcus, a historian with George Washington University Law School, on behalf of the Historical Society of the District of Columbia Circuit.

Justice Ginsburg donated the oral history to the ABA Women Trailblazers Project sponsored by the ABA Senior Lawyers Division. The project has collected detailed oral histories of more than 100 women pioneers in the legal profession nationwide who have made important contributions to the law and opened opportunities for other women. Stanford Law School’s Robert Crown Law Library, in an agreement with the ABA, has preserved and archived the ABA Women Trailblazers Project’s oral history collection and created a website. Justice Ginsburg’s oral history is available at https://abawtp.law.stanford.edu/.
