Three holiday events will take place in the Village of Climax, Scotts and City of Galesburg next week.
Winter Wonderland December 3 from 6-8 p.m. in the City of Galesburg, kicks off the area’s holiday events.
Christmas in Climax will take place December 6 beginning at 5 p.m. and Caroling On The Corners in Scotts is scheduled to take place December 7 from 6-8 p.m.
Winter Wonderland, sponsored by the Galesburg Augusta Business and Community Association, starts with a Christmas parade at 6 p.m. The parade, sponsored by the Galesburg-Charleston Township Fire Department, begins at the Primary School. The parade will feature decorated fire trucks, the G-A High School band and special guests, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
There will be fireworks over the middle of the city immediately following the parade.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will visit with the children after the fireworks in the Galesburg United Methodist Church. Refreshments will be available.
Personalized Wooden ornaments will be available for $5 each at the Galesburg United Methodist Church.
Complimentary hot dogs next to the Galesburg Hardware, and the Boy Scouts tree sale, located next to the old Bell’s Bakery, will also be taking place.
There will be a wassailing and hot chocolate tent in the Hardings parking lot during Winter Wonderland.
Area businesses will have a window decorating contest. The theme is “Frosty the Snowman.” The voting table will be located between the Galesburg Hardware and the Koffee Klutch. Voting will take place from 6-7 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Galesburg DDA.
Tickets for the Galesburg Augusta Business and Community Association drawing can be purchased at the Galesburg United Methodist Church. The list of prizes will be available inside the church.

There will be refreshments and children’s activities at the Peace Community Christian Church at 134 North Main Street.
The Community Christmas tree is scheduled to be lit at 6:30 p.m.
