Webinar looks at program provding protein to families involved with courts

The National Center for State Courts will present the webinar “Protein for All - Washington's Approach to Supporting Families & Staff” on Friday, December 12, from noon to 1 p.m.

This month's Family-Centered Friday session will showcase the Protein for All collaboration between the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts, local dependency courts, a naturopathic physician, and the Parents for Parents peer mentoring program. By offering protein-rich snacks to court-involved families and staff at key moments like before hearings or assessments, Protein for All aims to reduce stress, stabilize emotions, and support clearer decision-making and cognitive function.

Attendees will learn about program implementation, benefits, and preliminary outcomes.

Speaking at the webinar will be:

• Dr. Kristen Allott, naturopathic physician and consultant, Dynamic Brains Consulting

• Arina Gertseva, family court principal research associate, Washington State Center for Court Research

• Shawn Powell, Parents Supporting Parents coordinator, King County Courthouse

• Kelly Warner-King, manager, family & youth justice programs, Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts

• Moderator Teri Deal, deputy managing director, NCSC
