Macomb County authorities say 66-year-old Kurt Studing has been bound over to stand trial on all charges related to an alleged assault on his Clinton Township neighbors in September 2025.

Studing’s preliminary exam was held this week before 41B District Court Judge Carrie Lynn Fuca who ruled that sufficient evidence existed to bind Studing over for trial on all counts.

Studing is charged with the following:

• Assault with Intent to Murder, a life or any term of years felony
• Assault or Assault and Battery, a 93-day misdemeanor.

He will be arraigned in the Macomb County Circuit Court on Feb. 2.

It is alleged that on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, Kurt Studing assaulted his 75-year-old neighbor and his 67-year-old wife.

The neighbor was cutting his grass when Studing pulled him off the mower and began kicking and punching him.

His wife tried to intervene but she was pushed to the ground several times. A neighbor witnessed the assault and called the police. The man required hospitalization and his wife needed medical attention.
