Memory Cafe Event set March 3


This monthly, low pressure, and relaxing social gathering for those living with changes to their memory or thinking, those living with dementia, and their caretakers is set 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m, Tuesday March 3, at the North Muskegon Branch of the Muskegon Area District Library.

With music, gentle movement, storytelling, and art projects, participants experience community and a chance to learn new things.

Refreshments are provided. Registration is required.  Memory Cafes are a project of Dementia Friendly America.


‘House of Hamill Celtic Fusion’
set March 13


Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, the Pennsylvania-based trio of House of Hamill returns to electrify West Michigan Symphony audiences with their dynamic fusion of Celtic traditions and contemporary folk energy. 

Experience jigs, reels and songs infused with their original take on traditional Irish fiddling.

The event is set 7:30 p.m., Friday March 13, at The Block.

‘Crossroads’ Exhibit at MMA
to run through March 15


“Crossroads: Intersections of Black Family Culture” is an interdisciplinary exhibition exploring the cultural significance of Black family dynamics in the Americas. 

Organized by the Muskegon Museum of Art in partnership with co-curators Sydney G. James, Scheherazade Washington-Parrish, and Juana Williams, the exhibition comprises artworks of twenty artists from the Detroit area.

The show will run through March 15.
