Guardianship matters on the agenda
The Macomb County
Probate Bar association (MCPBA) held a seminar recently that focused on
supported decision-making as a possible alternative to guardianship in
certain instances. The presentation and discussion were led by
representatives of the Michigan Development Disabilities Council: Jan
Lampman and Mary Shehan (fifth and seventh from left, respectively).
Pictured with them at the event at the Clinton-Macomb Main Library in
Clinton Township were (from left): Dave Forest, MCPBA president; Wayne
Wilson, Megan Cashen and George Heitmanis, directors; Ryan Reck, MCPBA
treasurer; Eugene Hamlin, secretary; along with Alan Polack and Ben
Schock, also members of the board of directors.
