Dana Freers, a longtime local attorney and community volunteer, will seek election to an open seat on the 39th District Court (Roseville and Fraser) in the general election this November.
Judge Joseph F. Boedeker is not able to seek re-election, causing the vacancy. Freers, 47, has practiced law in the Fraser/Roseville area for the past 21 years, specializing in the problems of individuals and local businesses, from criminal and civil cases to family and probate matters.
In addition, she serves on the Character and Fitness Committee of the State Bar of Michigan, and is a past president of the Macomb County Bar Association.
Freers has an extensive history of community service, including as a member of the Macomb County Community Mental Health Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of the Eastside Community Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Fraser First Booster Club and the Fraser Lions, as well as the Fraser Goodfellows.

“I’ve served my community for many years,” said Freers. “Both as a lawyer, working for my neighbors, and as a charity and civic volunteer. I look forward to working for my neighbors in a new way, should I be elected as our new judge.”
Freers is a graduate of Michigan State University and the Michigan State University College of Law.
She is the mother of four children and has been married for 21 years.
