Scott Engerson joins Bloom Sluggett
Scott Engerson, MMAO, a property tax professional with more than 30 years of municipal assessing experience in West Michigan, has joined Bloom Sluggett and will work closely with the municipal and tax teams.
He brings decades of hands-on experience serving local governments throughout Kent County, including senior assessing roles with Alpine Township, the City of Grand Rapids, and the City of Wyoming. His background provides Bloom Sluggett’s municipal clients with practical, assessor-level insight into property valuation, assessment administration, and the municipal tax process.
Engerson holds a BSc. from Western Michigan University and is certified by the Michigan State Tax Commission as a Michigan Master Assessing Officer. He has served as president of both the Michigan Assessors Association and the Kent County Association of Assessing Officers.
Muth elected a Managing Member of Miller Johnson?
Jeffrey G. Muth was elected Managing Member of Miller?Johnson effective Jan. 1. He serves as chair of the five-person Management Committee for the next three years.
Muth joined Miller Johnson in 2015 after a 10-year stint with an AmLaw 100 firm. He has more than 25 years of experience as a commercial litigator andlegal advisor.
He has led Miller Johnson’s Litigation practice for the last 5 years and is the chair of the Privacy & Cybersecurity practice.
He is the recipient of numerous recognitions, including 2026 Best Lawyers in America, 2025 and 2023 Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” in Grand Rapids for Litigation – Insurance; ranked Band 1 in Chambers USA for Insurance in Michigan; and recognized with an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell
Muth has served on the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Committee; as past president of the Board of Directors for the Grand Rapids Ballet; and, as vice president of the West Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association Hillman Advocacy Program’s Steering Committee. He is serving as president of the Board of Trustees of the Kent County Legal Assistance Center.
