St. Clair Shores man charged with animal torture for alleged physical abuse of his dog

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 28-year-old Michael Sikorski, of St. Clair Shores, was arraigned on a charge of Third-Degree Animal Torture after he allegedly physically abused his dog.

It is alleged that on Sunday, March 15, Sikorski was slamming his dog, called Steel, onto the ground, kicked the dog several times, and lifted it by its leash, strangling it, before slamming the dog into the ground again.  It is believed Steel is not permanently injured.

On Monday, Sikorski was arraigned before Judge Mark A. Fratarcangeli in the 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores. Sikorski is charged with Animals – Torture – Third Degree. This charge is a 4-year felony and the maximum charge available under the law based on the evidence presented.

Fratarcangeli set Sikorski’s bond at $25,000 cash/surety/10%.

Sikorski is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference on March 24.
