Warren man pleads guilty to distributing child sexually abusive material

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Richard Call, a 32-year-old Warren man, pled guilty to multiple counts of distributing child sexually abusive material.

In November 2024, a tip from the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce started an investigation into Call. On June 4, 2025, Michigan State Police investigators determined that Call used his computer to share child sexually abusive material.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at a Pretrial Conference before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti, Call pled guilty to three counts of Distributing – Child Sexually Abusive Material. All three counts are 7-year felonies. Call will be sentenced before Gatti on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 9 a.m. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Justin Pollard represented The People at this hearing.

As part of his sentence, Call will be required to register as a Tier II Sex Offender, which mandates 25 years of registration. He is also subject to registration under Wyatt’s Law, which is a database of individuals who are convicted of criminal offenses related to children. He will also forfeit all devices that were used to commit the offenses.

"Distributing Child Sexually Abusive Material is active participation in the ongoing abuse of children. The abuse continues every single time the files are viewed or shared. The distribution of such material fuels a market that incentivizes predators to create more victims, knowing there is an audience waiting. My office pursues these cases aggressively because stopping the circulation is not just about punishing offenders, it is about cutting off a system that perpetuates unimaginable harm," stated Lucido.
