The Wolverine Bar Association and the Wolverine Bar Foundation are pleased to host the 64th Annual Barristers’ Ball on Saturday, April 25, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Detroit Renaissance Center, 400 Renaissance Center in Detroit.
This year’s ball, themed “Gold is King,” honors the legacy of the Mali Empire, one of history’s wealthiest and most culturally vibrant civilizations. This theme invites attendees to a night of grandeur, celebration, and possibility. In the 14th century, the Mali Empire stood as a global powerhouse known for vast wealth, thriving trade, and scholarship. Just as Mali’s legacy shaped history, the Wolverine Bar is committed to building lasting pathways for talented students pursuing legal careers.
As its flagship fundraiser, the Ball supports the Wolverine Bar Foundation’s mission to provide scholarships, externships, bar exam preparation, LSAT stipends, clerkship placements, and professional networking for aspiring lawyers.
Held in downtown Detroit, the evening will feature a Purple Carpet welcome, sophisticated décor in purple, gold, and black, West African inspired cuisine and beverages, live entertainment, and formal/black-tie attire inspired by royalty.
Tickets are $200 for members and $250 for non-members. For tickets or additional information about the ball, visit www.wolverinebar.org/barristers2026.
