Kalamazoo County Park admission numbers in 2025 at three local county parks remained close to 2024 figures according to the end of the year County Park Attendance figures released by the County Parks Department recently.

According to Kalamazoo County Parks and Expo Center Director David Rachowicz,  park visits at Cold Brook County Park in 2025 was 114,786, Scotts Mill County Park admission totals were 22,832 and River Oaks County Park near Galesburg visits totaled 457,850.

Rachowicz said the numbers are flat at all three parks compared to 2024.

He said the number of visit totals at Cold Brook Park appears significantly higher because the county was still working out a new vehicle counter system that was installed. The corrected 2024 park visit number is 119,846.

The Kalamazoo County Parks director said there are a number of improvement projects scheduled in the County Park System for 2026.

He said improvements at the disc golf course at Cold Brook Park will continue and a new boardwalk is scheduled to be constructed at Scotts Mill County Park in 2026.

Rachowiz said overall Kalamazoo County Park attendance was 1,160,368, an increase of 9% which he attributes largely to the opening of the new Woollam Nature Preserve.

Overall camping numbers remained consistent to 2024, with 8,437 nights of camping.

Rachowicz reminds the public now is a great time to make camping and picnic shelter reservations. The County Parks Department is already selling out campsites for the summer holiday weekends.

County Park annual passes can be purchased by calling the County Parks Office at 269-383-8778 or by visiting a Kalamazoo County  Park.  The fees did not increase for 2026, and are $30 for an annual pass, $25 for a Sr. or Veteran Pass, or $5 for a daily pass.
