Mount Clemens man sentenced on multiple counts related to child porn

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido says 68-year-old George Pointer, of Mount Clemens, has been sentenced after he pled no contest in March to two counts of using a computer to commit a crime and two counts of distribution of child sexually abusive material.

All charges are seven-year felonies.

Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Rachel Rancilio sentenced Pointer on Tuesday to 56 months to seven years in the Michigan Department of Corrections on all four counts.

Pointer is required to register as a Sex Offender for 25 years. He is also subject to registration under Wyatt’s Law, which is a database of individuals who are convicted of criminal offenses related to children.

“Crimes like these are profoundly harmful,” said Lucido. “Child sexually abusive material is not abstract — every image reflects real suffering and sharing it only deepens that harm. Technology accelerates and widens this exploitation, increasing the number of victims.”
