Pianist to Close Out Second Recital Series for the Season

The Second Recital Series at Second Reformed Church will conclude its season with a performance by pianist Arunesh Nadgir on Sunday, May 17 at 4 p.m.

Nadgir has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, South America, Europe, and Asia. He has performed in noted venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre. 

Nadgir has participated in several international music festivals including the Millennium International Piano Festival, The Moulin d’Ande Festival, and the Kneisel Hall Summer Music Festival. 

An accomplished teacher, Nadgir is the coordinator of ­keyboard studies and associate professor of Piano at Middle Tennessee State University. He previously held teaching positions include New England Conservatory's Preparatory and Continuing Education Departments, the Eastman School of Music, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and the Point CounterPoint Music Camp.

Nadgir holds degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music (BM), the Juilliard School (MM), and the Eastman School of Music (DMA). 

The Second Recital Series offers free performances monthly during the program year, with each followed by a reception in the Gathering Place of the church. This serves as an opportunity to meet the artist and enjoy a social time with light refreshments provided.
