Late last week, Howell was scheduled for a preliminary exam before 37th District Court Judge John M. Chmura. At that hearing, he waived his right to the exam and was bound over for trial.
Howell is scheduled to be arraigned before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer M. Faunce on May 26.
Howell is charged with the following:
Child Sexually Abusive Activity, a 20-year felony
Computers – Using to Commit a Crime – Maximum Imprisonment of 4 Years but Less Than 10 Years, a 7-year felony
Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, a 4-year felony
It is alleged that on April 1, Warren Police arrested Howell at the Warren Public Library after receiving a tip that Howell came to the location to meet with a 13-year-old girl for a
sexual encounter.
The planned encounter had been arranged through text messages.
