This year’s theme, “Journey to Juneteenth: Celebrating Freedom and Community,” reflects the county’s commitment to fostering inclusion, connection, and collaboration across our community.
County employees and residents are invited to gather for an afternoon of reflection, celebration, and togetherness on Thursday, June 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oakland County Courthouse’s courtyard, 1200 North Telegraph, in Pontiac.
The event will feature:
• Inspirational speakers
• Performance of the Black National Anthem
• Raising of the Juneteenth flag
• Food trucks serving delicious local fare
• Live entertainment celebrating culture and creativity, including spoken word, a marching band, and dance performances
• Meet-and-greet tables with local organizations and vendors
• Inflatables and yard games for all ages
• Student Art & Essay Contest
